Alex will be the first to tell you he is only one of thousands of similarly qualified and dedicated members of the medical and rescue services fields. He commends all the teams he works with for their grit, determination, and seemingly endless hours of effort to help save lives, not only during this pandemic but daily and across the country.

Alex attended the University of North Dakota as an ROTC cadet and successfully completed his helicopter training under the Army’s Helicopter Flight Training Program as a cadet. He received his commercial turbine engine rotary aircraft ratings and his B.S. in Aeronautics in 2009. He was commissioned and assigned to the Military Police branch. Throughout his period of active duty after training, from 2010-2013 he served as an officer in the 503rd Military Police Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC, the home of the Army’s Airborne and Special Operations units. Alex served first as a Military Police platoon commander and, subsequently, in the Battalion’s command section.

After leaving active duty in 2013, Alex returned to Naperville, Illinois, where he completed his paramedic training at Edward Hospital. In addition to his normal duties, he serves as a drone pilot, on the Department’s water rescue team, and as a rescue diver.  

In recognition, Alpine Adventures will fly Alex and a guest to the invigorating and inspiring snow and fresh air of the high mountains in Colorado. The Madeline Hotel in Telluride’s Mountain Village, a member of the Auberge Resort Collection, will host Alex and his guest for three nights. Ski Butlers will supply the best equipment, and Telluride Ski Resort will provide complimentary 2-day lift tickets.
