Element Adventures is proud to announce the first Triple Peak Gran Fondo, featuring three iconic climbs in the greater Winchester area!  The Triple

Peak Century+ route has it all: plenty of miles, beautiful pastoral vistas, stiff mountain climbs (with accompanying descents!), and even a couple miles of gravel.  Not for the faint of heart, the Century+ features 115 miles with 9,000 feet of elevation gain.  The Metric+ and Half+ provide shorter challenges, but adventure nonetheless!  Over mostly rural roads, you'll get to see the beauty of northwest Virginia, as well as a fair bit of West Virginia.

A portion of each participant's entry fee will be donated to Congregational Community Action Project (CCAP), a local charity.  We ask that all participants bring a canned food item to donate to the food pantry.   CCAP maintains a food pantry, operates a clothing center with all sizes, and offers assistance in other areas such as rents, utilities and prescription drugs.  http://ccapwinc.org/ Help us raise funds for this organization that does so much in Winchester/Frederick County!

Element Adventures is proud to present Gritventure!, an adventure ride based out of our Element Adventures West Camp in Augusta, WV.  Featuring gravel roads, stiff climbs, and backcountry riding, this ride will bring out the little kid in you!  With two route options to choose from, you'll find the perfect challenge.  The 74 mile route will test your mettle, and the 50 mile route will still provide plenty of suffering with your joy.

This will be a true gravel adventure: no SAG support, no route markings.  Download the GPX files so you can navigate the route (Cue sheets will also be provided).  There will be no aid stations set up, though there will be bars and gels available at the ride start to throw in your jersey pockets to take with you.  You'll need to carry enough water with you to last the ride or refill at stores or spigots found along the way.  Be prepared with flat changing tools and spare tubes, as gravel can be rough on tires.  Take a cell phone, but be aware that service can be spotty.  This ride will go rain or shine, so if the forecast is cold and wet, be sure to dress appropriately!

We're serving up another excellent mountain bike adventure! The Spruce Knob to Seneca Creek adventure is a true backcountry excursion; in fact, it is designated by the International Mountain Bike Association as an IMBA EPIC. 17.6 miles long, with about 70% of it awesome singletrack. This is certainly not an easy ride, with around 1,950 feet of elevation gain, so a fair amount of climbing is involved. This is not a ride for beginner mountain bikers. You should have intermediate to advanced skill and stamina. This ride is not a race, so we will be taking breaks from time to time to make sure we are together (if we have enough participants, we will split into multiple groups).

Join us for a picturesque ride through the countryside around Winchester, with a wine tasting at Valerie Hill Vineyard and Winery.

This will be a fun and relaxing ride.  We will ride as a group at about a 12-14 mph pace.  The ride length is 30 miles on paved roads, with 20 miles to get to the winery and 10 miles to finish back at Element Sports.  We will leave Element Sports at 10:30 am and return about 2 pm.  This ride will be guided, and will have a SAG wagon and mechanic on hand.  Should you decide to purchase any bottles of wine at the Winery, they will be transported back to the start/finish for you so you won't have to carry them on the bike.
