Tis The Season....To Enjoy Some Time Off
Many of us have the opportunity to take a few extra days off during the holiday season. Hopefully you'll get the chance to spend time with friends and family, or just get some down time for yourself!
I myself have found that having time off during the holidays makes things a little more stressful. My schedule is disrupted, my routines tend to become more random, and with those things out of the norm, often times I forget stuff that I committed to. (FULL TRANSPARENCY....Yes, even forget that I was scheduled to teach a class!)
And How Can We Keep Our Irregular Schedule From Stressing Us Out?
This month I have committed myself to "be there for all of it" without judgments about myself or conditions for others, and with compassion and love for all.
Recently I visited Costa Rica. I was very excited to go and "be there for all of it" and was present to just that. The beautiful vistas, the amazing creatures, the feeling of swaying in the waves of the ocean with the sun kissing my skin....paradise!
But in that I was also present to the screaming baby I sat next to on the 3 hour plane ride, the cab driver overcharging me as I'm not familiar with the money conversion, the communication and lost in translation issues, and let's not forget the relentless insects that come out to suck you dry after dusk.
Keeping Your Witts Is Not By Chance...
But By Choice
Parts of the trip totally would have stressed me out were it not for my preset intention of "be there for all of it". This intention kept me calm(er) and more accepting of things that were out of my control. Giving me the chance to just go with the flow.
Going forward into this holiday week, I invite you to be there for all of it. And because I know you have been and would be there again for me, I will be right here holding space for you. Cheers to the pleasure, the pain, the irritating, and the enjoyable holidays....CHEERS TO ALL OF IT!
With Love & Grace & Holiday Cheer,
Jenny
