December "Massage for a Cause" Partner:
United Way of Denton County
 

Our December 2018 Massage for a Cause partner is The United Way of Denton County!

The United Way will participate in the annual "Point in Time Count", which occurs during the end January. During this count, volunteers will count the unsheltered and sheltered homeless on one night. This count is important to all communities, providing a tally of who is homeless on a given night and producing a snapshot of who experiences homelessness throughout the year.

This month we will be collecting items that will be distributed during this count to those who are experiencing homelessness.

Bring in one or more of these following items in December and you will be entered to win a free 1 hour massage:

~ individually wrapped non perishable snacks / cup of soup / cereal cups / etc (be generous! more is always better!)
~ rain ponchos or small umbrellas

Soma Denton is open 7 days a week by appointment only and is located in the back half of the Green Space Dance Studio, located at 529 Malone St. Here's a list of our openings this week:

Thursday at 4:30, 5:45, or 7:00

Friday at 1:15*, 4:30*, 6:30, or 7:15

Saturday at 1:30, 2:45, 4:00, 5:30, or 6:45

Sunday at 1:45*, 2:30*, or 6:15*
Soma at SDCC

Soma at SDCC is open Monday - Friday by appointment only and is located inside the Spinal Decompression and Chiropractic Center at 2500 Lillian Miller. Here's a list of our openings this week:

Friday at 10:00, 11:15, or 12:30

We are modestly raising our rates in 2019
 

After 5 years in business, we have realized that it's time to raise our rates effective January 1, 2019.

This decision was not made lightly: we strive to keep our costs low in order to bring massage to as many people as possible. This isn't simply a luxury for the well-off -- this is a healing modality that all people should have access to.

However, costs have increased over the years, and we need to make up the difference. 

I have always believed that if you treat your staff well, that quality of care will be reflected in the integrity of the business. Because of that, I have consistently increased everyone's pay rate year after year to honor their hard work and thank them for their commitment to Soma. If I intend to continue that trend of reward-for-hard-work while still maintaining our no-tipping-policy, then the time has come for us to raise our rates.
