It's true: Soma Massage Therapy doesn't accept tips! Ever wonder why? Here are four reasons:

1. We belong in the healthcare field: What we are doing here at Soma is more than just a relaxing experience -- it's therapeutic and rehabilitative, and belongs more in the healthcare field than in the service industry! If you've never tipped your physical therapist or chiropractor, why would you tip your massage therapist?

2. It's stressful for our clients! We want you to be thinking about your massage and how your body is healing and responding to the work we're doing, not trying to budget and do math! We know you love our therapists here, so instead of trying to figure out how much you can or can't afford to tip us, just relax, enjoy the session, and let us take care of you! The best tip you could provide would be to tell your friends about us!

3. It's stressful for the therapists, too! Like anyone, they don't want to have to worry about money and finances. And if they get a couple of "bad tippers" that week, they may not be able to buy groceries or fill up their gas tanks -- and that's definitely not fair, especially with how hard they work! That's why we pay our therapists twice as much as the average corporate spa -- that way their paychecks are consistent and reliable, and they are getting compensated as the professionals that they are.

4. We want massage to be accessible to as many people as possible. That's why we keep our price point low compared to most massage studios, and don't accept tips (which would only make it more expensive). Healing shouldn't be a privilege -- it should be something that everyone should have access to.

My family has adopted four pets from this wonderful shelter, and we've loved all of them! Our fat cat, "Mr. Chubbers" aka "Tub Tubbs" aka "Tubby Guy" (pictured above) recently passed away from lymphoma and of course we are devastated. But as the sadness passes and the happy memories are left, we feel so grateful for all the years that we had with him -- because every day we got to rub his belly was a gift!

To honor Mr. Chubbers and all the animals that have found their fur-ever homes through this adoption center, we are collecting supplies for all the fur babies still waiting to meet their forever families!

You do not need to have an appointment here in order to participate! ANYONE can bring donations to our main office at 529 Malone St, and you'll be entered to win a free one hour massage!
