After 5 years in business, we are raising our rates effective January 1, 2019. This decision was not made lightly: we strive to keep our costs low in order to bring massage to as many people as possible. This isn't simply a luxury for the well-off -- this is a healing modality that all people should have access to. However, costs have increased over the years, and we need to make up the difference. I have always believed that if you treat your staff well, that quality of care will be reflected in the integrity of the business. Because of that, I have consistently increased everyone's pay rate year after year to honor their hard work and thank them for their commitment to Soma. If I intend to continue that trend of reward-for-hard-work while still maintaining our no-tipping-policy, then the time has come for us to raise our rates.
