Yep, I said it . I know most people want to be flexible when they’re thinking about yoga but it’s really overrated. You know what I would rather you focus on? - What feels good to your body?
- What helps you recoup after a long day?
- What helps energize you in the morning?
I would much rather you feel these things than to feel “flexible”. And speaking of feeling energized in the morning, since the weather has started to get warmer I've changed my routine a little bit. Spoiler alert -- it has nothing to do with touching your toes!! My morning meditations have moved from my meditation cushion to a walking meditation in the park. I've found this movement outside in nature not only get me energized, but helps me focus and has even made me even more consistent in my yoga practice. Don't forget to make time for yourself and do what feels good for you (and don't worry if you don't touch your toes!) Cyndy
