I am going introduce you to a different 80% rule that we can use with your nutrition planning to get immediate results and that you can keep with you for life to continue getting great results. This is one of those actions that falls into that 20% we mentioned before. 80% Full
The new habit for the week is learning how to eat to just 80% full at each meal. Most of us overeat on a regular basis, and we have forgotten what it is like to only eat until we are 80% full or satisfied. This isn't going to be easy, but once you have learned to master this habit, you can use it to consistently get great results. Mastering This HabitThe first thing that I want you to do is monitor how you feel immediately after each meal you eat starting right now. Do you feel uncomfortable? Do you feel tired? How are your moods? After you have started to focus on how you are feeling after meals, you will start to notice if you are overeating or undereating at your meals. After you understand to recognize how you feel after a meal, we will start monitoring how you feel between meals. Are you hungry 1 hour later? Are you not hungry 4 hours later? How to Start Eating to 80%
Now that you understand how you are feeling and are aware of how to monitor your hunger, you can focus on eating at 80%. Eat off a smaller plate, leave some on your plate, don't go back for seconds, eat slowly. This is going to take some trial and error. |
